Our Policies
There are a few things to bring and information we need to know to ensure your pets stay is the most comfortable with K9 Country Cottage:
1. A comfortable blanket or bedding that smells like home. (preferably washable)
2. Bring Food that your dog is used to eating.
We supply Nutro Natural Choice Chicken, Rice & Oatmeal.
If that is exactly what your dog eats at home then there will be no stomach upset. If not please bring your pets regular food, please apportion the food in individual servings by meal. We serve 2 meals daily.
3. We supply all dishes.
4. Please do not bring toys.
5. Vaccinations are for your dog’s protection as well as the other dogs’. Proof required of the Distemper/parvo combination (usually their annual booster), Rabies, and Kennel Cough.
6. Emergency numbers are very important to us should
something happen to your pet,
Please ensure we have current contact numbers each time
you board with us.
7. Barking Policy: We cannot have a 'repetitive barker'. A repetitive barker is a dog who barks continuously for 10 minutes of any 30 minute time frame. Please understand repetitive barking is not an ordinary occurence even for puppies or first time visitors.
If your dog is a barker we will use a very humane method to quiet him/her down. We will use a citronella anti-bark collar that sprays a quick burst of citronella spray from under their chin. We have had great success with this colar. Dogs are very smart and figure it out very quickly, and without any stress. They continue to have a wonderful time.
The citronella anti-bark collars are very effective but expensive to use. If we have to use this collar on your dog there will be an additional charge of $ 10 per stay or for longer stays per week.
8. We accept cash and debit cards. Payment required upon arrival at K9 Country Cottage.
9. We pride ourselves on the cleanliness of our facility. Our kennels
are cleaned out every
day. When ‘accidents’ happen in the kennels it is cleaned up immediately. Each
kennel
is thoroughly sanitized after each dog checks out and before a new guest arrives.
K9 Country Cottage has a no Pit Bull policy.
K9 Country Cottage loves and respects all dog breeds. However, we feel that we are not equipped to keep or maintain Pit Bulls in our facility.
A pit bull is defined as any dog that is an American Pit Bull Terrier, an American Staffordshire Terrier, a Staffordshire Bull Terrier, or any dog displaying the majority of physical traits of any one or more of these breeds. There are many local facilities that will gladly look after you.
